SLL at SLCC

For the prevention of civilian mass causalities, to defend and eliminate any oncoming zombie horde, and to be able to provide support to the community.

The use of weaponry is closely as old as civilization itself. From the common tools of labor to tools of death and destruction; weapons have been one of the corner stones of human existences. Yet of all history in civilization; two ideas have been used, tested, and proven (whether its results were effective or not) that were used in war. Although, the level of innovation along with its savage impact towards the enemy, in this case the mental impact on the enemy will have no leverage due to being the undead or living dead of SLC. The War Pigs committee will refer to the types of Zombies to MV’s or Mortuus Vivens. The reason is that if these reanimated corpses need to be classified in a biology category when a study is conducted after all, the Latin language tends to be the center for definition and Mortuus Vivens roughly translates to living dead.

According to utahnaturalmeat.com/pork, the average cost of pig at weights at least 140 lbs. typically goes for $742 for consumption. Of course, using a pig can be a bit pricey (especially alive) – but, the idea of this is to save individuals from the pathological rampage; the zombie outbreak. One less person is one less Zombie. But there is an alternative from the expensive flaming pig and what the United States did back in the 1940’s (World War II Era) was something very unexpected especially with modern technology taking over general war tactics as well as warfare as a whole. The Bat bomb is also another approach that can be revisited as well as re-innovated to Utah’s Zombie warfare. Proposal by Lytle S. Adams, a Pennsylvania dentist, was inspired after visiting the Carlsbad Cavern in New Mexico and as a result of Pearl Harbor Bombing, he wanted revenge against the Japanese air raid.

Now at this point, you could think that how did this even come to light as well as how did this by pass the red tape. It basically goes down to who you know and in this case, Adams was a good friend to the Franklin D. Roosevelt’s wife, Eleanor Roosevelt. With his proposal of demolishing Japanese cities by equipping incendiary bombs to bats, they could go to all the locations that normal humans would not be able to go (“Nooks and Crannies”). Obviously, the intent was to cause as much destruction as possible without dropping a bomb.
Adams proposal eventually came up the National Research Defense Committee which were responsible for conducting research on war-applied technology (Basically, they were the scientific side of government/organization during WWII), thus the idea was forwarded to Donald Griffin a Psychologist known for his work with bats and echolocation strategies and consciousness of animals, has stated, “This proposal seems bizarre and visionary at first glance…but extensive experience with experimental biology convinces the writer that if executed competently it would have every chance of success.” The proposal of Adams definitely has a tone of an all or nothing approach when it comes to achieving victory for WWII. After all, it was something that the United States considered.

So, the question is pending…What does this have to do with MV’s? So far on what we know, they come from the North part of the country, not very smart, loss of former personal via life, slow moving in large groups, and overall infectious.

Weapon Suggestions

If you come in contact with a zombie, walk the other way. Or better yet, run away. Run as fast as you can. The zombies are slow moving, and most capable (two legged/no handicap) humans can easily escape. If you have a physical disability, are bound to wheelchair, etc, stay with able persons who can assist you. Going out on your own to prove your own survival savvy is not recommended.

The type of Bats that were going to be used was the Mexican free-tailed bat and its carrier was shaped like a bomb with hundreds of mini compartments where the flying mammals were stored. While a sleep until departure, the tactic was to imply a “…Scatter Incendiaries” method. The Project become to be known as Project X-Ray. Originally supervised by United States Air force and later transferred to the Army, the complexity of this was how to control the bats state of sleep, how it was shipped, and how it was going to be deployed; this was the real cost and effort of using science and engineering. The program was also transferred to the Marine Corps were the tests conducted in December 1943 where it become the final destination. With 30 demonstrations along with $2 million dollars that have been spent, Project X-Ray was canceled. This was mostly due to the development of the Atomic Bomb. As Project X-Ray rate of success was a failure, it did cause some damage to a hangar and a car that belong to a general that resulted in flames.

Although, getting our hands on bats as an institution may need to have some qualifications such as accreditation or special education requirements for handling these creatures under certain course degree requirements (like Biology, Zoology, or Veterinary), but it is not impossible. Image the benefits of owning a bat farm on the Redwood Campus: fewer insects, an increase of pollination for food, the sales of bat guano to farmers, and a controlled population; the bat does have some great components the ecology, the field of studies, and agriculture. Do not get me wrong, there are some risk that are taken into account such as rabies, over-colonization, guano, and the overall fear of bats (which can be interrupted into a type of hysteria). The bat barn can be located at the open field that is located on North-West Field of the Redwood Campus. Thus deployment can be either picked up by military or local police via helicopter, if counter measures need to be taken.

At this point, Utah is a state of agriculture along with livestock culture and in particular the pig has been
proven very useful. From eating off the meat, producing methane gas if needed, producing brushes from there bristle hairs, to the potential organ donor for humans. The many uses of pigs have been very beneficial to humans; especially in war. The Romans are known to use the flaming pig against the war elephants during the age of conquest. It has been documented by various sources (Lucretius – Roman Historian, Pliny the Elder, and Procopius) typically generals and soldiers

stating the elephants become afraid to high pitch squealing – in this

case the pig (and in some cases a wild boar). What the Romans did was

revolutionary which is also very ingenious for a counter measure

against the war elephant (The War elephant’s purpose to disrupt the

front line of an army and to create chaos along with trampling soldiers

to death). How this was accomplished is you get a pig, cover it in oil, tar,

or resin, somehow get the heard together (probably similar to rounding

up cattle on horseback), and igniting them with a flaming arrow from an

archer thus the against the war elephant As you can image, it was

effective creating chaos.
